Healthcare Reimbursement Account

You can apply for reimbursement for all medical care and associated expenses not covered by insurance on a tax-free basis for you and all covered dependents under the Welfare Fund. The benefits allowed are:

    • Medical and Hospital
    • Dental
    • Prescription Drugs including over the counter medicines
    • Vision Care
    • Hearing Aid
    • Medicare Premiums
    • Long Term Care Insurance
    • Other Healthcare Insurance
    • Assisted Living Medical Costs
    • Final Medical Expense

If you do not have a sufficient balance in the Healthcare Reimbursement Account, you can authorize the Fund Office on the reimbursement form to transfer the amount of your expenses from the Security Benefit Fund into the Health Reimbursement Account. This amount cannot be greater than either the total cost of expenses or the balance of your Security Benefit Fund.
